Essay:  Write an expository essay in which you compare the fairy story Animal Farm with the Russian Revolution.  Compare the characters to their real life counterparts, compare the actual events with the plot in the story.  Reread the Preface and Introduction to the story again and answer the following questions:
1.  In what ways did Animal Farm fulfill George Orwell's purpose for writing the story?  In what ways did it fall short?
2.  What themes should Orwell have focused more on?  What themes should Orwell have downplayed a little? Why?
3.  In what ways was the book a mirror of what happened in the Russian Revolution?  In what ways did the book misrepresent what happened (aside from the fact that the story has animals that can talk)?  How could Orwell improved those parts of the book and still maintained the integrity of the story?
