Today, we explored the reasons why industrialization occurred and where.  We looked at a map and explored where industrialization spread to.

Tonight, focus on one of the following individuals:

• James Watt
• Eli Whitney
• Henry Bessemer
• Louis Pasteur
• Thomas Edison

Write an expository essay about one of the inventors listed above.  Explain their major inventions/discoveries.  Explain how this individual inspires technological/scientific change and how that led to societal changes as well. Your essay should be at least 5 paragraphs and include:

• An Introduction
• A conclusion
• 3 body paragraphs
• at least 1 technological change
• at least 1 cultural/societal change

 and be

• typed
• 1 page long
• in 12 point font
• written in either Times New Roman, Helvetical, or Arial font

This essay is due on Wednesday, October 31 (A Days)
                               Thursday, November 1 (B Days)

Modified Assignment:
Write a two paragraph expository essay in which you explain how one of the following individuals effected change. (James Watt, Eli Whitney, Henry Bessemer, Louis Pasteur, Thomas Edison)
In the first paragraph, explain what technological changes the individual invented/discovered.
In the second paragraph, explain 1 social, economic, or cultural changes that inventor helped bring about.
